May 3, 2024:
The Big Ten Cancer Research Consortium (Big Ten CRC) is excited to announce the release of a new public service announcement (PSA), showcasing the importance of scientific research collaboration among the Big Ten Cancer Centers. This PSA appears on the Big Ten Network.
The Big Ten CRC is united in transforming cancer research by leveraging the scientific and clinical expertise of each of the Big Ten universities to bring more cancer treatments and therapies to patients who need them.
“We are thrilled to partner with the Big Ten Cancer Research Consortium on its new PSA highlighting the innovative advancements in cancer treatment that have resulted from the collaborative efforts of the Big Ten Cancer Centers.” said Tony Petitti, Commissioner, Big Ten Conference.
Developed ten years ago, the Consortium was founded on the shared belief by Big Ten Cancer Centers that bringing together the brightest minds from across the member institutions would accelerate progress in cancer research and improve outcomes for patients across the Big Ten region and beyond.
“The Big Ten Conference is much more than outstanding athletics but also outstanding education and research,” said Howard Bailey, MD, director of the University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center. “The Big Ten Cancer Research Consortium is a great example of this: 15 world-class cancer centers working together to advance our understanding and lessen the impact of cancer.”
The PSA was developed by the Big Ten Conference and the Big Ten Cancer Research Consortium. Tune into the Big Ten Network to see the PSA or view it here.
