July 23, 2024: The Big Ten Cancer Research Consortium (Big Ten CRC) Population Science Clinical Trial Working Group has received $5,000 of a $90,000 donation to be used for collaborative research regarding rural cancer survivorship. July 12, 2024: Mark Burkard, MD, PhD, has been named director of Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Iowa, and will begin his new role on October 1, pending approval from the Iowa Board of Regents. He will also begin as professor in the Department of Internal Medicine in the Division of Hematology, Oncology, and Blood Marrow Transplantation in the Carver College of Medicine. Read More

May 15, 2024: The Big Ten Cancer Research Consortium (Big Ten CRC) is set to participate in the American Society of Clinical Oncology® (ASCO) 2024 Annual Meeting in Chicago from May 31 to June 4. During the event, three Big Ten CRC studies will be presented, working group meetings will take place, and the Big Ten CRC will host a joint reception with Hoosier Cancer Research Network (HCRN). The Big Ten CRC will also be represented in the exhibit hall at HCRN’s booth, #37113. Read More
May 9, 2024: Raymond J. Hohl, MD, PhD, was recently named chair of the Cancer Center Directors Committee for the Big Ten Cancer Research Consortium (Big Ten CRC). In this role, Dr. Hohl will help guide strategic priorities for the Big Ten CRC as the consortium enters its second decade. Dr. Hohl has been a member of the leadership committee since the consortium’s founding in 2013 and succeeds Howard Bailey, MD, director of the University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center, as the committee chair. May 7, 2024: The Big Ten Cancer Research Consortium (Big Ten CRC) recently appointed Oana Danciu, MD, as chair of the consortium’s steering committee. Dr. Danciu is associate director of clinical research at the University of Illinois Cancer Center, a breast oncologist at UI Health, and associate professor in the Division of Hematology and Oncology at the University of Illinois College of Medicine Chicago. She succeeds Vijaya Raj Bhatt, MBBS, MS, of the University of Nebraska Medical Center, as chair of the committee. Read More
